We at Intelvision are aware of the value of knowledge, which is why we initiate internal training within the company and compensate our employees for the cost of external ones as well as various certification programs. In addition, we actively support educational initiatives, one of which, TED x UCU, took place on September 3 at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU).

TED x UCU x Intelvision: Knowledge is the New Money—And That’s Why We Support Events Like TED

TED is an annual conference about unique projects and innovations that carry the ideas of change and development of society. The motto of the conference is “Ideas worth spreading.” It reflects its mission, to spread ideas that can change the world for the better.

This year’s speakers at the conference were graduates and representatives of the UCU. Each of them shared ideas from business, science, education, and culture.

The answer is simple: learning is the best investment of our time that we can make. Or as Benjamin Franklin said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

What is TED and Why You Should Spend Time Watching These Conferences

Back in 1984, in the city of Monterey, California, the American architect and graphic designer Richard Wurman together with Harry Mark organized the first TED conference. It featured the first Macintosh computer, an innovative CD from Sony, e-books, and ultra-modern 3D graphics from Lucasfilm. Mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot demonstrated the practical application of his theory of fractals, and AI expert Marvin Minsky explained a new model.

Nowadays, the three big red letters TED (Technology Entertainment Design) are known and recognized all over the world. This is a conference where scientists, philosophers, musicians, philanthropists, businessmen, and other speakers deliver their message to the audience during approximately 18 minutes of lectures.

The main project’s goal is to make great ideas accessible and ignite a spark of discussion. The topics of the lectures are very diverse: from science to business and global problems of humanity. The audience is also diverse — managers, scientists, artists, philanthropists, and more. To receive an invitation to become a TED speaker is a great honor. Among the TED speakers at different times were Nick Vujicic, Sir Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Gordon Brown, Philip Stark, and many others. Videos from the TED Talk are published online , and then they can be viewed freely on the official website.
